Elvin Polanco (born 14 July 1969) is a music promoter from the Dominican Republic. He is best known for working with Los Tinellers (=Teenagers) de La Bachata, known today as Aventura. ==Biography== Elvin Polanco was born in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic to Pedro Pablo Polanco and Maria Esperanza Rodríguez. Elvin is the oldest of four siblings. In 1983, he traveled to the United States with his father and sister. He and his sister began school at Junior High School #56 located at Madison Street in lower Manhattan. In 1985, he started work evenings at a Latin restaurant called the Castillo de Jagua where his teacher, Santiago Olivo, pianist of the quintet Group Alfa 5, was choreographer. Elvin Polanco was later employed by Casino Records and Records under Pedro Álvarez Cepero and Gilberto Reyes Muente. Elvin Polanco acquired a lot of knowledge of the market of international music in the years he worked at Casino Records until they closed their doors when its president, Gilberto Reyes Muente, died. In the year 1995, Elvin was introduced to Amalio Santos, president of the Rincon Musical Corner, located at 49th Street and Tenth Ave in Lower Manhattan. They recorded their first musical titled production of twelve songs. Alexandra la Novelitas and others in this festival were amazed that this was their first performance. This was in the Bronx at 163rd Street and Bronx River. Out of this came the first program of bachata called "Cuerdas al Aire - El Bachatazo de la noche" for WKDM 1380 AM with outstanding production by Pedro Félix. After a year with Freddy Tavera and Miguel Cardona Manuel Alejandro Ruiz, known as Boy Wonder, CEO of Chosen Few Emerald Entertainment, Inc, he discovered the beautiful Gelena Solano. They formed the break-through television program called "Underground Video" where they would interview artists such as Daddy Yankee, Wisin & Yandel, Ivy Queen, Héctor Delgado Román (formerly "Héctor El Father"), Tito "El Bambino", & Baby Rasta. From 2005, under LB Record, Elvin worked with artists like Julián Oro Duro, Chala, Pepe Cornielle, Kike Mangu, Anthony G, Candela Pura, Eddy Eddy, Ivan, Grupo Iluxion Bachata, and others until 2007 when he joined 5 Star Records (located in Queens) where he had a very happy two years. The maximum representative of the genre works the production of bachata el Rey Supremo de la Bachata, Luis Vargas works the production Mensajero two productions very well achieved During the last years I kept on being employed with Safe Vision Music with the artist Mickey Taveraz Darlin y los Heredero and Eunel and the group Nueva Era with another record label Miami Mutual Entertainment.
